Oh Summer! Welcome!

Summer is finally here!

It’s that time of the year, when everyone is trying to be healthier and eat/drink lighter options. Gather your closest girlfriends for a small summer party get together. (In case there is a boyfriend in the picture,  tell him it's a girl's day!) Few appetizers and the perfect refreshing sangria will do! Later on, get ready and hit the town with your ladies!

A pitcher of cool, refreshing sangria makes any summer party a little more fun! Style Flash suggests you invite your closest friends for a little intimate day party! We will help you with a delicious and light menu – perfect for summer!

Choose a crisp white wine (Style Flash suggests any Pinot Grigio) and mix with: orange liqueur, fresh ginger, lemon juice and mint leaves. Then, add your choice of summer fruits such as pineapple, cantaloupe, and apricots. This refreshing white sangria can be prepared up to a day in advance. (You want to let the wine soak in with the fruits!)
Before serving, make sure to add LOTS and LOTS of ice!

Ingredients
  • 6 cups assorted fruits (such as mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, and apricot), sliced or cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups fresh basil or mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur, such as Cointreau
  • 1 bottle crisp white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
  • Ice!
Directions
  1. In a large bowl or pitcher, combine fruit, ginger, basil or mint, and orange liqueur. Mash gently with the back of a wooden spoon until basil is bruised and fruit releases juices. Add wine and lemon juice and stir to combine. Refrigerate 1 hour (or up to 1 day). To serve, fill eight glasses with ice and top with sangria.
